Payments

Medtribe uses Stripe to process payments at the time of booking.

Stripe is a large, regulated, payment processing platform.

For the initial transaction, Stripe will take a fee.

In the UK standard card fees are 1.5% + 20p.

This ensures a streamlined checkout process for your event, mirroring the simplicity of paying on platforms like Amazon, while also providing you with a Stripe Express account to view and export transaction data.

This guide will go over:

  • How to set-up your Stripe Account
  • How you can use your Stripe Express Account
  • How payments work within Medtribe

Taking payments through the platform with Stripe is optional.

How payments work within Medtribe

Refunds

Cancelling a booking before the cancellation deadline (defined in the session tab) triggers an automatic refund to the booker, excluding the Stripe fee.

If they need a refund after the cancellation deadline has passed, please reach out to team@medtribe.com.

Payouts from Stripe Express

As a default, all payments remain in the Stripe Express account until the organiser requests the Medtribe team to send them to the designated bank account. When you want this to happen, please send an email to team@medtribe.com.

We do this to avoid your Stripe account going into a negative balance due to refunds/refund requests. If your account is in a negative balance, you will not be able to process any further paid bookings until the balance is no longer negative.

If you wish to set your account to automatically send the money to the designated bank account, please email team@medtribe.com once you have set up the account.

Conclusion

Stripe facilitates easy payment processing for bookings, offering a smooth checkout similar to well-known online platforms and charging a fee (standard card fee is 1.5% + 20p in the UK).
